"But all of that is beside the point - is a handball automatically cheating? You seem to not want to disagree but that is all I was saying."

So why attack what I said, which is entirely compatible with that?

Have you copyrighted it, or something?

Let's be fair, it was hardly Maradona hand of God was it?

Arm of God?

Even Sir Geoff admitted his first goal was off his hand when we smashed Sunderland 8-0, Hurst getting 6

Your scenarios rely on a whole lot of "what ifs" You have no idea what would have happened.

Let's strike the two bad goals off and see what the scores are.

But all of that is beside the point - is a handball automatically cheating? You seem to not want to disagree but that is all I was saying.

Through a mixture of jet lag and alcohol last night was a bit of a blur, but a good result in the end. Looked like we might throw away all three points at times, certainly the old West Ham would have fucked that up, but luckily they looked pretty poor on the final ball.

Good to see Lanzini back, and Arnie could have had a brace on another night. Doesn’t erase the memory of that shitshow in the cup, but the signs are encouraging.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Fulham - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
So you feel that Fulham lost points because the officials got that decision wrong last night then? Because let's be honest, we were abject until we equalised.

I'm a big believer that you control the things you can control. Our failure to beat Liverpool had far more to do with us missing simple chances than one poor decision. And Fulham lost last night because they failed to take advantage of our slovenly approach to the game, not Hernandez's handball goal. But you can't have it both ways, moaning about injustice one week, then making feeble excuses for injustice the next. Its the mark of a Scouser.

Griff, my boy, I never called Liverpool cheats or any anything about conspiracies. I said the officials were clearly wrong and it felt like it was two points lost. So take your indignation elsewhere.

And again, is handball necessarily cheating?

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Fulham - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
Let's get one thing clear, Canada son. If that goal had been scored against us this site would be full of people calling the perpetrator a cheat, claiming conspiracy theories about referees being against us or dodgy in some way, and all the other nonsense that always gets spouted.

By all means make the case that you take what you get, and it's the officials problem and not ours - both points are absolutely valid - but a little consistency and humility is all that's required.

You said it was like a defender in an unnatural position, if that is not what you meant, I am sorry.

No harm, no foul.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Fulham - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
Did I say his arm position was unnatural? (Any more than I said he was a defender?)

Did I say he cheated? (You do understand the function of these "?)

I very carefully did neither.

But you win. You put your own interpretation on what I said, and totally refuted it.

Where did I put those gold stars?

I wonder of people realise how utterly ridiculous they sound. The loudest moaners about cheating and injustice are now the loudest defenders of cheating and injustice.

Except I don't think there was anything unnatural about his arm position. Should he have had his arms behind his back?

He had no time to position his hand and it moved with his whole body which was down to head it. If he wasn't trying to head it, there would be claim for intent. In my opinion.
